Design and Experimental Investigation of a Thermoelectric Conversion Device with Power Management for Forest Fire Monitoring

Forest fires have long been a significant global problem. How to reliably accomplish the early warning and real-time monitoring of forest has become pressing issue in order limit damage caused by fires. A novel technological approach for fire made possible quick development wireless sensor network (WSN) technology. Currently, batteries are primary source power WSNs used forests, but frequent battery replacement will compromise monitoring. As result, supply is key its application areas. This paper puts forward thermoelectric conversion based on Seebeck effect. Its notable feature convert heat energy into electric through temperature difference between shallow soil air. In process testing device, maximum voltage was 803.36 mV. At same time, management system (PMS) device designed. The main this that there no need an external control module. laboratory test, minimum input 200 When load resistance 8 KΩ, output 0.55 mW, efficiency could reach 65.38% when 500 mV, which fulfills requirements low cost high reliability, providing feasible solution solving limitation problem area.
